Excursion Details

Embark on an unforgettable journey to Demre, Mira, Kekova and discover the unique pages of Turkey's history by immersing yourself in the atmosphere of ancient times and Christian traditions. The tour will introduce you to the iconic monuments of the Lycian Kingdom and the most important Christian shrines.

Your day will start early in the morning, around 4:15-5:00 (transfer time depends on hotel location), when a comfortable bus will pick you up from your hotel. The journey starts from the picturesque Mediterranean coastline, where you will stop along the way in the mountains to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Kumluca, famous for its tomatoes.

The first point of the itinerary will be Finike, an ancient port city with a long history. Here you will continue yourjourney to Mira, a place where the grandeur of the Lycian kingdom and Roman culture were embodied. Among the ancient ruins, the rock tombs carved in stone and the perfectly preserved amphitheater are particularly notable. In the IV century St. Nicholas lived and worked here - the same Nicholas the Wonderworker, whose relics rest in the Church of St. Nicholas in Demre. The church is decorated with colorful frescoes and is a significant place for believers who come here every year to ask the saint for a miracle.

After your visit to Demre, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before taking a short drive to the port of Uchagyz. There you will begin your cruise in the footsteps of the sunken city of Kekova. This once prosperous island now hides in its depths the ruins of the city of Dochiliste, which was destroyed by an earthquake in the 2nd century B.C. You can explore the underwater sarcophagi, fortress ruins, theaters and amphorae visible through the glass window at the bottom of the boat. If you wish, you will be able to swim in the beautiful bay while enjoying the peace and tranquility of these historic sites.
